Shipping Policy – Yatara African Foods

At Yatara African Foods, we take care to ensure your authentic African food products are packaged and delivered safely and efficiently across New Zealand.

1. Delivery Areas

We currently ship within New Zealand only.

If you require special delivery arrangements, please contact us before placing your order.

2. Processing Times

  • Orders are processed within 1–3 business days.

  • Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day.

  • Orders containing frozen products are dispatched between Monday and Wednesday to maintain product integrity. Any orders with frozen items placed on Thursday or Friday will be processed and shipped on the following Monday.

  • During peak seasons, processing may take slightly longer.

You will receive a confirmation email once your order has been dispatched.

3. Shipping Timeframes

Estimated delivery times after dispatch:

  • North Island: 1–3 business days

  • South Island: 2–5 business days

Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to courier delays.

4. Perishable & Temperature-Sensitive Products

Where applicable:

  • Perishable items are packaged appropriately to maintain product safety.

  • Customers must ensure someone is available to receive temperature-sensitive packages at time of delivery.

  • Once delivery is confirmed by the courier, responsibility transfers to the customer.

We are not liable for spoilage due to:

  • Failed delivery attempts

  • Incorrect delivery addresses

  • Packages left unattended

5. Incorrect Address

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.

If an incorrect address is provided:

  • It may result in delays or the return of your order in accordance with our shipping policy. 

  • Additional courier charges may apply.

  • We are not responsible for lost or spoiled goods due to incorrect details.

6. Damaged in Transit

If your order arrives damaged:

  • Notify us within 24 hours (especially for perishable goods)

  • Provide photos of packaging and product

  • Include your order number

7. Shipping Fees

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on location and weight.
